    • Please bring your Resident Card (or passport for those who have yet to receive a Resident Card) to a Regional Office and file paperwork within 14 days of arriving in Japan.

• Residents of Nagasaki who Become Mid- to Long-term Residents

  • Bring your Resident Card to a Regional Office and file paperwork within 14 days of receiving your Resident Card.

• Attention:
  • Short-term residents cannot work in Japan.
  • You must apply for permission to carry out activities other than those authorized under your status of residence.
  • You can apply for an extension to your period of stay from 3 months before your status of residence expires.
  • You must apply for a re-entry permit if you are going to temporarily leave Japan (for a year or more).
