昨日、貴国が6回目の核実験を実施したとの報道に接した。
貴国の度重なる核実験実施や弾道ミサイル発射に対し、国際社会から強い非難や抗議がなされているにも関わらず、それを完全に無視し、またもや我が国や北東アジア地域、ひいては世界の平和と安全を脅かす核実験を強行したことに猛烈な憤りを感じる。
貴国の行為は、国連で核兵器禁止条約が採択され、核兵器廃絶への流れを加速させようと努力する国際社会の動きを阻害するとともに、核兵器廃絶に真剣に取り組んできた被爆地及び市民社会を愚弄する暴挙であり、私たち被爆地市民は断じて許すことはできない。
私たちは、被爆地長崎を代表して、貴国の愚挙に厳重に抗議する。
貴国が被爆地の思いを真摯に受けとめ、すべての核兵器及び核計画を即刻放棄することを重ねて強く要請する。

Yesterday, we received news that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has conducted a nuclear test for the sixth time.
We are extremely resentful that despite the strong criticism and protest from international society towards your country’s repeated nuclear tests and launching of missiles, you have completely ignored that criticism and once again carried out a nuclear test threatening not only our country and Northeast Asia, but also the peace and safety of the world.
Along with obstructing the efforts of global society to quickly rid the world of nuclear weapons, shown in the United Nations’ approval of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, your country’s actions are an act of violence that ridicule Nagasaki and Hiroshima which have put forth serious effort towards the abolition of nuclear weapons. This is something that we, the citizens of Nagasaki, a city which experienced the devastation of an atomic bomb, absolutely cannot forgive.
On behalf of the atomic-bombed city of Nagasaki, we protest your country’s violence in the strongest possible terms. We strongly request that your country sincerely accepts Nagasaki and Hiroshima’s feelings and immediately abandon all nuclear weapons and nuclear weapon plans.
